Learn To Glide - gets you to solo! £1365*

A very popular present for someone special - including yourself!

This course starts off with a 5 day, Monday to Friday holiday course, where you will be shown the ropes by your instructor.  Unlimited launches and airtime are included in this package, for both your initial 5 day course, and any further flying you do, up to and including your first solo flight! One year's Full membership of Windrushers Gliding Club is also included, giving you access to our mid-week and weekend bookable training.

During your initial 5 day course, you will learn the basic effects of the controls, how to take off and fly a launch, how to plan a circuit, and how to fly an approach and landing, as well as many other lessons that form the training syllabus.  You will also receive ground briefings and tuition throughout your training, and learn to be a part of the airfield team.

You will also receive a starters pack, including Pilots Log Book, training progress card, BGA Laws and Rules, and the book, 'Gliding - from Passenger to Pilot', which covers all of the flying exercises.

This is an open ended package until you reach solo standard. If you do not reach solo within your first year, you must pay the normal membership fee at renewal time.

Flying Start - £295*

A popular 'taster' introduction to gliding!

The Flying Start course includes 3 months membership to Windrushers Gliding Club, and £250 of flying credit which is ‘flown off’ at club rates – see the Price List under Full. This should give you around 30 Winch Launch flights or 8 Aerotows. This will take you a significant way through your training to become a pilot! Includes pilot’s log book. You can either fly at the weekends by putting your name on the daily flying list when you arrive at the launch point, or come out mid-week if the day is not otherwise booked up.

Once you go solo on the Learn to Glide package, all future flights will be charged at normal club rates plus soaring fees.
